2024 Low Income Housing Apartment Cap Rate: 8%

The Appraisal District is giving public notice of the capitalization rate to be used to appraise property receiving an exemption under Section 11.1825 of the Property Tax Code for Organizations Constructing or Rehabilitating Low-Income Housing: Property Not Previously Exempt.

The 2024 cap rate used by Collin CAD = 8.00%

2023 School Tax Freeze Ceiling Reduction

Texas voters passed Proposition 1 on May 7, 2022, which amended the Constitution authorizing the legislature to provide for a reduction in the 2023 school tax ceiling (freeze) for property owners with 65 & older exemption, or those qualified disabled persons.
